A unique combination of the beautiful Turkish sea and unparalleled food options. For a town with a resident population of about 3,000 it has over 350 restaurants and bars, with many reaching a very high standard of cuisine. The roof terrace restaurants are superb and a repeatable experience. The beach club options cater for all tastes. There are plenty of things to do from boat trips to visits to the local heritage sites and a large variety of shopping. Locals are very welcoming.

Kalkan is a beautiful place but having been a few times I wont rush to go back. Nothing to do with the wonderful setting but more to do with the ridiculous noise coming from a few of the bars at night. Don't get me wrong if you are young and into bars where you need sign language to talk this could be the place for you. But later at night I like to chill but no matter where you went in town all you could hear was the noise battle between 2 bars cranked to volume 11 which drowned every bar near by. So not for me, day time yes but night time Not a chance.

We have been to the Mediterran Hotel three times now, so clearly we love it and would recommend it to anyone. Generally, I would say it’s a couples and groups hotel, not much for kids. It’s a fair way out of the main town which is nice, but for a couple of quid you can get a taxi into the centre or the port. The taxis are plentiful and you never have to wait more than a few minutes for one. The people are all very friendly and not too pushy when trying to get you to enter their restaurants. There are plenty of shops, where you can buy amazing fake clothing, most of which is of a reasonable quality, excellent, if you take into account you can by labelled trainers for £15-20! There are plenty of food and grocery shops if you are self-catering. In addition to having stayed at the Mediteran we have rent villas in Kalkan for family holidays. There is also a good market with food and clothing. Kalkan has provided us with many great holidays.

Kalkan was was a really nice resort.
Kalkan was was a really nice resort. Plenty to do but not too busy. There were plenty of great places to eat and the old town with its narrow cobbled streets were lovely to walk around. A visit to Seaport restaurant is a must, great food, great staff and great location.

A really beautiful area with stunning views and very kind people! The city center itself was a little too busy for us but, we went to a lot of great areas just around the city in Kaş, Fethiye etc. - very practical to rent a car to get around !

Kalkan is a fabulous place! Nice chilled atmosphere.
Kalkan is a fabulous place! Nice chilled atmosphere. Fantastic food didn’t have one bad meal in two weeks. Warm, friendly people. Great for all ages, couples and families. Very hilly in places even in the town so be mindful if walking issues.
The view from our room was spectacular. The hotel offered a complimentary on-demand shuttle (by sea) from the hotel to Kalkan (last shuttle was at 18:30) although it did not run in rough sea conditions. A reasonable menu for lunch and dinner was offered although it did not change from one day to the next throughout our 8-day stay. (Of course one could go to Kalkan which has many restaurants - of varying standards and cruisine. In the evening, one would need a taxi to get back to the hotel - at a princely charge of 50 TRL)
during our roadtrip along the lycian coast authentic Caretta Hotel was our favorite spot. we enjoyed the quietness away from the tourist crowds, jumping into the clear sea right fom the hotel‘s vast lounge areas, the clean room with large balcony, seaview and sunshine all day long. Kalkan with many restaurants is just a 10 minutes walk away. the hotel has a classy charm and a homy vibe thanks to the friendliness of the owner Murat Bey, Saïd and the dog Çamur. wish we would have stayed longer and hope to come back one day!
As you enter the house and you hear the ding dong of the door bell you fell like at home. Actually, the delicate accuracy, the perfect cleanliness, the typical Turkish style with a touch of European delicatessen, the people who welcome you like family, the delicious breakfast, the amazing view, the lovely pets: everything made this house the perfect place where to be. My kids asked me to write the best review ever…not sure I have been to. If you have the chance, stop by for a few nights. You won’t regret it!
Nice, clean place for a family holiday, away from the hustle and bustle. A little far from the city, but the owner of the villa can take you to the city and back like a taxi. There is nothing near the villa, but you will remain hungry - there is a supermarket nearby (you can walk there), and upstairs the owner of the villa has a Turkish cafe where they cook delicious food. I especially recommend trying the delicious, homemade green olives - we couldn’t resist and bought 5 liters.
Recommend this place.
Lures is a beautiful hotel and we have had a brilliant stay. It is brand new and finished to a very high standard. The rooms and views are stunning, as is the infinity pool. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they are absolutely trying to provide the best service. We used the pool daily, swam in the sea, used the gym and had breakfast / lunch for our 9 night stay. It is a real asset to Kalkan and the rooms are the most beautiful we have stayed in anywhere in the world.
Tijen is a super friendly host. She helped us with arranging a transfer from Kalkan to Mahmutlar near Antalya (6 hour trip). She was very kind to our little son, and helpful to find nearby groceries and so on. The apartments are very close to the public beach and nice restaurants in the old town. We enjoyed the balcony as well when the little one was off to bed. Great stay, would come here again.
Breakfast was amazing, the best we have ever had in a hotel. We didn’t have sea view from our apartment, but green trees, and mountains in the background. And the water was just 5 minutes walk away, beautiful clear water you can access from a ladder on the cliffs.
Pool area and garden is very cozy, lots of little hideaways to enjoy sun or shade.
Very nice hosts.
We had a lovely relaxing time at Lizo hotel. The owner, Ali, is friendly and accommodating. This hotel is priced very competitively but does not really lack anything you need. I had the pool to myself when I swam and there is an honestly system at the pool bar. A really lovely, charming hotel, inexpensive yet only 10 - 15 minutes walk to the lively centre of Kalkan.
Breakfast very good with lots of home made food. Nice room with great view from balcony. The staff were all very friendly and as helpful as possible. Would recommend as a very nice place to stay. The hotel is about a mile out from kalkan but not an issue , I walk with a stick down to town and taxi back. Taxis are cheap only 25TL
Small cosy hotel in the old town very close to the waterfront. Just 4 rooms with cute balconies overlooking the charming side streets. Breakfast, cooked to order on the stunning roof terrace was the highlight. This family run hotel is very friendly and accommodating.
The Hotel was excellent, very clean with friendly staff. The bedroom was a good size.
Breakfast was good.
There are stunning sea views from the terrace and pool areas.and it is walking distance to Kalkan town.
plenty of restaurants in the vicinity.
Stunning little hotel in Kalkan.
Fabulous location right in the old part of town.
Rooms are a delight and staff were very helpful.
Paige the Manager went out of her way to accommodate our requests.
Don't hesitate to book here.
Small family run hotel, staff very helpful and friendly, clean, comfortable and in great location for the old town. Fabulous Turkish breakfast included in excellent price. Lovely sea view room with balcony
Absolutely loved this place. Great location and great staff - especially Amanda, who helped with recommendations and bookings for restaurants and bars. Would most certainly stay here again if in Kalkan.
We enjoyed it because it was our last stop before going back home, we stayed there only
